Blythe's Blog

Just another communications major

About

Hi my name is Blythe and I am a first year Digital Media Literacy major at ASU! I am from Seattle, Washington and am participating in the Starbucks College Achievement program through ASU. I created this blog during my time in digital media literacy courses as part of my education on the subject. The main goal of this blog is to share valuable insights and knowledge about digital media literacy. Through my blog posts, I aim to educate readers on key concepts, trends, and issues in the field. Additionally, I hope to foster a community where people can engage in discussions and exchange ideas about digital media literacy.

Digital media literacy is crucial in today’s society because it empowers individuals to navigate and critically evaluate the vast amount of information available online. In an era of fake news, misinformation, and digital manipulation, having the skills to discern credible sources, understand media biases, and engage in responsible online behavior is essential for informed decision-making and active participation in the digital world. Throughout my education in digital media literacy, I have gained valuable insights into the impact of media on society and the importance of critical thinking. I have also developed practical skills in media production and analysis, allowing me to better navigate the digital landscape and contribute to the conversation surrounding media literacy.
